Strip of needle lace with knotted bouquet and snowballs

Strip of natural-coloured needle lace: Brussels mesh lace. Dotted pattern of dots on a mesh ground. Here depicts a repeating pattern that at the bottom consists of a recumbent and tied bouquet. The bouquet consists of large branches with strong roses and snowballs, which bend upwards and downwards. In the extension of the lying bouquet is a very strong and richly worked C-scroll placed, from which the top also again flower branches spring. The pattern becomes sparser towards the top, with smaller motifs and consists of wavy flower garlands. Full work with cutouts, relief contours with partly strongly thickened cords and a variety of decorative grounds and decorative stitches. The scalloped edge results from the pattern. The top side is edged with a border of bobbin lace. The sides are finished with a hem, partly following the shape of the motifs.
