About this work
Mitten of natural-colored Brussels appliqué lace: bobbin lace with needle lace decorative stitches applied to machine-made tulle. The model is like round-cut sleeves, hollow inside and bulging outside. The pattern is symmetrical on both sides and has daisies and other flowers tied together with a bow. In the center it has a loose bouquet of flowers and scattered rosebuds, framed by a sparse garland with roses. The motifs are made in net stitch and linen stitch with openwork edges and accentuated by relief contour lines in various places. Needle lace decorative stitches are applied in flower centers and ribbons.
