About this work
Mitten of natural-coloured Brussels appliqué lace: bobbin lace with needle lace ornamentation applied to machine-made tulle. The model is like round-cut sleeves, hollow inside and bulging outside. The pattern is identical on both sides and features daisies and other flowers tied with a bow. In the center it has a loose bouquet of flowers and scattered rosebuds, framed by a loose garland of roses. The motifs are made in net stitch and linen stitch with openwork edges and accented in various places by relief contour lines. Needle lace ornamentation is applied in flower hearts and ribbons.
