Strip of bobbin lace with a pearl necklace in a compound vine

Strip of natural-coloured Brussels bobbin lace. The pattern consists of a wavy vine, which is composed of all kinds of leaves, a string of pearls and flower clusters. The vine partly cuts through the pattern along the underside of the strip with two larger flowers and leaves, which consists of, among other things, linked leaves and rosette flowers. The motifs are connected to each other by a fine mesh ground, a drochet ground. The filling is largely made in linen stitch with openwork edges and partly in net stitch. Most motifs are provided with cutwork relief contours. As a filler ground, among other things between the cluster flowers, picoted braids are applied. The upper side is finished with a separate cutwork band, to which fragments of a hexagonal mesh ground are attached. The slightly and irregularly scalloped underside comes from the border pattern and is finished with picots.
