Strip of bobbin lace with pinecones mirrored under a scattered pattern of buds along a straight line

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. Under a scattering pattern of mosses the repeating and continuous pattern along the lower half of the strip consists of a continuous straight line. Attached to the line at regular intervals are always two mirrored pine cones or leaves in the form of a flame. The motifs are connected by a fine lattice ground, the Mechelen ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch and provided with thicker and shiny contour threads. Top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight with a separately bobbin-worked band along the upper edge and a picot border along the lower edge. The strip consists of four strips sewn together.
