Strip of bobbin lace with a symmetrical pattern around a continuous scalloped decorative border below the center line of the strip

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Flemish lace. The pattern on the upper half of the strip consists of two rows of loose motifs, always twice a configuration of four circles, alternated by a flower with four pointed oval petals. Well below the center line of the strip, the repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a continuous scalloped ornamental border, which with the linked stylized leaves and flowers along the underside of the strip forms a kind of cartouche. Between every two cartouches stands a loose rosette flower. The motifs above the ornamental border are connected to each other by a lattice ground, a five-hole ground. Ornamental grounds are applied below the ornamental border. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cutouts and thicker and shiny contour threads. The top side of the strip is finished with a separately bobbin-worked band. The scallop edge along the underside of the strip is finished with picots.
