About this work

Doily of natural-colored bobbin lace: ribbon lace. Round model. Symmetrical pattern with four fields in the center, each with a four-lobed flower on a short curved stem. Around these fields are two more pairs of smaller four-lobed flowers and curling motifs that emphasize the four-part division in the pattern. The outlines of the motifs are formed by narrow winding ribbons made in linen stitch and connected to each other by overlapping pairs. At some points connections are made with double picoted braids. The scalloped edge along the outside is formed by a regularly wavy ribbon.
