Strip of Bobbin Lace with Four-leaf Clover and Rosette Border

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Parisian lace. The upper half of the strip consists of a row of double leaves and a row of four-leaf clovers. The repeating pattern along the lower side of the strip consists of a row of openwork circles, with closely below a row of rosettes. Each rosette lies in a shell, in which four loose buttonholes lie. Along the shells runs a band. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a Parisian ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thicker and shiny contour threads. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The shells at the lower side are finished with picots.
