About this work
Insert of natural-coloured Dutch bobbin lace. The repeating pattern consists alternately of a little heart and a round flower between two elongated curling leaves. The heart stands alternately upright and upside down. The motifs are connected by a round lattice ground with braided stitches. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts in the circular flower heart. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight and sewn onto a fragment of linen from a sheet.
