Strip of bobbin lace with V-shaped motifs above a fan-edge border

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace. The repeating and geometric pattern consists of a symmetrical V-shaped motif, which reaches from the underside to the top side of the strip. The wide line that forms the motif is divided into rectangles that are alternately made in linen stitch and net stitch and are surrounded by thicker contour threads. The triangular space in the V-shaped motif is filled in. The motifs are connected to each other by a mesh ground, a buttonhole lattice ground. Between the successive V-shaped motifs in the mesh ground a diamond-shaped motif is realized without contour threads, with a network of larger meshes and nine small motifs in linen stitch. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The faint scalloped edge along the underside comes from a series of fan motifs, which are finished with picots.
