About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: strop lace with motifs in oblique net stitch, also called 's Gravenmoerse lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists alternately of a heart-shaped flower in net stitch and a triangular flower in linen stitch. Around the motifs runs a thicker contour thread which also forms the stem of each flower and the zigzag line of circles which forms between the flowers, with one flower under each point. The motifs are connected to each other by a reinforced closed buttonhole ground. Top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, the bottom being provided with picots.
