About this work

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace. The pattern consists of winding and circle-forming lines, creating various symmetrical compositions. Only the middle composition is undamaged. The motifs are connected by braids. The motifs are worked in linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts. On the horizontal axes of the compositions stand stars in a straight line, made of braids (middle composition) and leaf-shaped form stitch (the two compositions next to it). Along the underside of the strip runs a scalloped edge of linked fan motifs. The top edge is finished straight above a narrow border in linen stitch, but damaged.
