About this work
Strip of natural-coloured machine lace: machine Mechelen lace. The repeating pattern consists of two interlocking C-shaped flower stems, with on each stem a three-lobed flower. Along the lower side of the strip lie alternating three small ovals and two openwork circles. The motifs are sparingly provided with cutouts and all provided with shiny contour threads. They are connected to each other by a machine hexagonal trellis ground. Between the flower stems an machine fine snowflake ground is applied as ornamental ground. Top and bottom side of the strip are finished straight, the lower side being provided with picots.
