Strip of bobbin lace with a branch forming two openwork ovals

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of a flower branch forming two openwork ovals. One along the lower side of the strip and directly above it the other on the center line between the leaves. On one side a branch with three rosette flowers springs from there. Under an arch of six square mosses hangs a fourth rosette flower on a stem downwards to the lower side of the strip. Above the branches stand two rows of branches. The motifs are connected by a fine lattice ground, a tulle ground. They are made in linen stitch with some large cutouts and with thicker, shiny contour threads. In the ovals along the lower side a rose ground is applied as decorative ground and in the ovals on the center line a snowflake ground. The square mosses are made in form stitch. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The slightly scalloped lower side is finished with picots.
