About this work

Strip of natural-coloured machine lace: machine Valenciennes lace. The strip is strongly curved in shape. The repeating pattern consists of a curved branch with a rose hip and some leaves. Under each branch is a broad curved shell made along which a narrow one-sided feathered leaf lies. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and some cutouts. They are connected to each other by a square mesh ground, a machine Valenciennes ground. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge along the bottom side of the strip is finished with picots.
