About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern below the center line of the strip consists of a curved leaf under which a fan-shaped bunch of flowers hangs. Each bunch forms a single shell with whimsical edges. The successive bunches are placed against each other. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a tulle ground. The motifs are executed in linen stitch with cutouts and thicker and shiny contour threads. The upper edge of the strip is finished with a separate bobbin lace band. The short sides are finished with a hem.
