About this work

Cast-iron fireplace plate with a semicircular top. In the center is the crowned coat of arms of Groningen, flanked by festoons. At the top an angel's head with floral ornaments on either side, at the bottom a symmetrical scrolling ornament. The whole is crowned with a pomegranate and additional decorative elements on either side.
