About this work

Cast-iron stove plate divided into two zones. In the upper zone, under arches, are two female figures on a console. They are separated by a colonnette. The woman on the left is Leda with the swan on a small pillar beside her. On the right is possibly Fortuna. Above the arches is leaf ornamentation. In the lower zone, a medallion with a bust and profile is surrounded by leaf ornamentation with fantasy creatures, and above it is a winged angel's head.
