About this work

Baptismal cloth of natural-colored machine-made lace. Square model with wavy scalloped edge. Unadorned central field and a repeating pattern along the edges: two bouquets per side, lying along the edge. The pattern along the edge consists of a stringing of fern-like S-shaped leaves. In each corner a similar, but corner-bending bouquet. Between the bouquets a curved smaller flower branch with various flowers including a carnation, cup flower, cornflower and some small rosette flowers.
