Bedpan with Flower Vase and Birds

The object consists of six parts: the wrought-iron ring, the pan, the lid, the hinge, and the wooden handle. The pan, lid, and hinge are made of copper sheet. The domed lid, whose center point remains visible and which is hammered on the underside to form a red-copper reinforcement with a vertical rim, features a stylized decoration of a vase with a flower and surrounding birds, indicated by granulated lines and cut out. On the vase, a domestic scene is depicted, including a table and chair, a small painting, and a cabinet. The wooden handle is profiled at the bottom and ribbed at the top. The handle was likely made in the 18th century.
