Lace edging for a cap of mixed lace with medallions in scrollwork

Cap slip of natural-coloured mixed lace: Brussels bobbin lace combined with needlepoint including a needlepoint ground and various motifs in needlepoint. This type of lace is also called point d'Angleterre. Rectangular with slightly wider straight ends. A wheel border (needlepoint) is interrupted both by large ovals (needlepoint) set in a leaf scroll (bobbin lace), as by large outwardly placed roses (needlepoint). The roses form the shell border with leaves (bobbin lace). In the middle field stand fine twigs (bobbin lace) each with a large rose (needlepoint), with applied relief leaves.
