About this work

Around a batiste center run two lace borders, a narrow entre-deux and a wide scalloped strip. In a corner stands a W embroidered in plumetis, above which a royal crown. The letter parts are crossed by tufts of three roses. The entre-deux has on a mesh ground (square mesh) a row of alternately inward and outward directed French lilies. The strip has semi-circular scallops, alternately filled with a French lily in circle and rose. In the top edge moesjes. Valenciennes lace.
