About this work

Japanese strip of natural-coloured applied lace: needle lace applied on machine-made tulle. This type of lace is also known under the name: point d'Angleterre. The outer, ornamental border consists of palmettes, under pointed arches, alternated with an upright branch. The outside is straightly finished by an eyelet border. A scatter pattern of hanging bellflowers fills the ground above the borders.
