About this work
Scarf or neckcloth of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. Stretched rectangular in shape. Two-sided symmetrical design. On a mesh ground stand, scattered apart, tufts of bindweed (?) and roses with pointed extensions to both sides. Running around is a broad straight profile border and doubled narrower profile borders, each forming a shell with radiating leaves. At the ends stands a symmetrical decoration of a C-scroll, three times a tuft of three 'East Indian cress cups' and two diagonal ovals.
