About this work

A Coromandel wooden case with contents, London, 1872. A leather writing case and mirror lined with purple velvet is in the lid. The pull-out drawer has the text Toulmin & Cale, Cheapside & Bond St. London. The drawer is lined with purple velvet. No key. Contents: three square and two large round flacons; in removable tray: two small round flacons, a toothbrush flacon, a square and a rectangular flacon, all with silver lids/caps with lozenge motif and medallion; corkscrew, button hook, tweezers with mother-of-pearl handle; needle case and three awls; pincushion of purple velvet. Under the tray an empty space lined with purple leather. Knob opens drawer.
