About this work
Fragment of a stoneware jug on a high foot with a cylindrical body and rounded shoulder. Neck and handle are missing. The handle was attached to the shoulder. Profiles on the body and foot. On the cylindrical part of the body in relief a printed and applied band with the history of the Good Samaritan. Below the inscription 'DA SPRACH IHSVS ZU IHM SO GEHE DU HIN UND THV DESZ GLEICHEN AUCH SANT LVCE AM X CAPITEL 1619' and the mark 'I.C.'. The lower part of the body slopes diagonally in cannelures to the foot. The shoulder is divided into compartments with alternately stamped rosettes or cutwork. Raeren.
