About this work
Jug of stoneware on a foot ring with a globular belly and narrow neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Profiles on the neck. Partially covered with cobalt blue. On the shoulder, an engraved line with above it a band of stamped half-circles against a blue background. The belly features three impressed and applied relief medallions, the central one flanked by crowned lions. In the medallions, a portrait with the border inscription 'ICH.BRINS.DER.HERS.LEBSTENVM.I.ERVNT[...].1632'. A mount with a lid is attached to the handle. On the inside of the lid, a struck mark.
