About this work
Stoneware jug on a stand ring with a globular belly and a long, narrow neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. On the neck a profile and incised lines. Partially covered with cobalt blue. On the belly three times the printed and applied coat of arms of Trier in relief. Around the coat of arms the inscription 'CARL CASP DC ARCHIEP TREV PRINC ELECT ADMIN PRVM PERP' and '1656'. Twice a lion in relief between the three coats of arms. On the shoulder above an incised line a band with stamped flowers cut out in a blue background. Westerwald.
