About this work

Fragment of natural-coloured sun lace (needle lace): Tenerife lace. The fragment is rectangular and has a pattern filling the fragment with two 'suns'. On one short and one long side of the lace, a continuous border of linen is sewn. Along the other long side, above one of the 'suns', a linen border is also sewn, which makes a right angle, just past the next sun. The linen is cut off just above the point where it makes a right angle, along the same line as where the lace makes a right angle, but is cut off. The other short side is also cut off and not finished.
