About this work

Strip of natural-colored sun lace (needle lace): Tenerife lace. In four square fields placed side by side, a repeating and symmetrical pattern of a 'sun' built up from narrow volute bands. In the center of the square field stands a round flower around which the volute bands form a four-lobed motif. Around the four-lobed motif, other volute bands form a circle. In the corners of the square field, almost entirely filled by the sun, stands a diagonally placed S-volute. The top side of the strip is finished with a narrow linen border with a simple openwork edge. The first and last square fields are partly cut off, one of them cut off diagonally.
