About this work

Strip of natural-colored needlepoint lace: Argentan lace. Repetitive motif with mainly curled feather-like leaves and some fan-shaped flowers and small rosette flowers. Ground with meshes that are closely sewn with buttonhole stitches. Work decorated with cutouts and various fine ornamental grounds. There is no separate pattern for the lower edge, the very finely picoted scalloped edge forms itself from the motif of flowers and leaves. The upper side is edged with a border of bobbin lace. The strip is slightly curved, as for a berthe.
