About this work
Strip of natural bobbin lace, Lille potter's lace. The repeating pattern consists of a decorated flower pot with ears and feet, in which a symmetrical bouquet stands. Centrally stands one large flower, flanked by a branch with two smaller and one larger hanging flower and various lobed leaves. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a tulle ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thicker and shiny contour threads. Decorative grounds are applied in, among others, the flower pot and the flower hearts. The top and bottom are finished straight, with the lower side provided with picots.
