Border of bobbin lace with obliquely placed whimsical flower

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of a whimsical branch with a rosette flower between two horizontal leaves, from which a larger diagonally placed flower or fruit springs and a curved leaf. Directly below the branch stands a comparable rosette flower between two horizontal leaves, but without the larger flower and leaf. Along the lower edge runs a narrow straight band. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a tulle ground, scattered with square cushions. The motifs are executed in linen stitch with large cutouts and thicker and shiny contour threads. A rose ground is applied as decorative ground. The cushions are executed in form stitch. The top and lower edges of the strip are finished straight, the lower edge provided with picots.
