Bobbin lace strip with two rows of bows and a row of flowers

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Parisian lace. The upper half of the pattern consists of two rows of diagonally placed knots, where the upper half is in the opposite direction to the lower half. The lower half of the pattern consists of a row of flowers, always one flower on a slightly curved stem with a few leaves. Along the lower side runs a border consisting of a stringing together of whimsical motifs. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a Parisian ground. The sparse needlework is made in loose linen stitch, with thicker contour threads. In the flower hearts a tulle ground is applied as ornament ground. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, where the lower side is provided with picots.
