About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of a heart formed by a decorative ground of circles, a rose ground. The hearts stand on the straight band running along the lower edge. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a tulle ground. The contours of the hearts are executed with thicker and shiny threads. Contour threads also run along the band, executed in linen stitch, with the upper one continuing into the hearts. The top and lower edges of the strip are finished straight, the lower edge provided with picots.
