About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Old Flemish lace. The pattern consists of a repeating symmetrical composition of a daisy on a straight stem, flanked on both sides by a tulip on a slightly wavy stem with elongated volute leaves. The flowers hang from the upper edge downwards and always fill one semicircular shallow shell. A sparingly used irregular mesh ground connects the motifs. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. The shells are picoted. The upper side is finished with a straight edge.
