Strip of appliqué lace with one flower on a curling branch

Strip of natural-colored appliqué lace: bobbin lace - Bruges flowerwork - applied on machine-made tulle. Lying branch with curling side branch and one flower attached to a fine hexagonal mesh ground with a regular scattered motif of open knots. A long stretched pattern with bows and ovals forms the picoted shell border at the underside. The motifs seem to be made of ribbon lace, but they are made of coarse Bruges lace, where the ribbon lace fashionable at the time may have been used as inspiration. The top is edged with a border of bobbin lace.
