About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Russian lace. The pattern is formed by two rows of lying J-shaped ribbons, where the J's in the lower row are mirrored relative to the J's in the row above. A star-shaped motif connects the ribbons with each other. The ribbon is made in close-worked linen stitch, with openwork edges and an openwork center. The stars are made with picoted plaits. The upper side is finished straight with a band with square meshes. The shells along the lower side are formed by the points of the stars and the shape of the ribbons.
