About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Cluny lace. The repeating pattern consists alternately of a flower with eight petals, made in shape stitch, and a lobed circular motif in linen stitch. The motifs are connected to each other by a braid ground, where some braids are provided with a single picot. Each successive flower stands in the center above an openwork three-lobed shell, made with a band in linen stitch with openwork edge and finished with picots. Along the top of the strip runs such a band, but then straight, without lobes.
