Strip of lilac-white bobbin lace with hanging ears of corn

Strip of coloured - lilac-white - bobbin lace: strop lace. The repeating pattern consists of stylised hanging ears of corn in linen stitch with an openwork centre. The ears of corn are lilac in colour and hang straight down, they are placed against each other and form a scalloped edge along the underside of the strip. At the top of the strip the ears of corn begin from an inverted V-shaped motif made in net stitch. They are connected at the top of the strip by a lattice ground, a strop lattice ground, in which always one pointed oval in linen stitch is worked between the ears of corn. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The scalloped edge is finished with picots.
