About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: strop lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a row of linked diamond-shaped fields. The fields each consist of a frame in net stitch with therein a sparingly applied strop trellis ground with in the center a more or less diamond-shaped motif in linen stitch. The triangular fields above and below the diamonds are filled with a strop trellis ground with in the center always one heart, made in net stitch. Top and bottom of the strip are finished straight.
