About this work

Doily of natural-colored bobbin lace: Bruges flowerwork. Round model with scalloped square center of batiste. The repeating pattern consists alternately of a trefoil and a rosette flower. At the outer edge, between the leaf and the flower, there is always a small circle. The motifs are worked in net stitch and linen stitch, with openwork edges and cutouts as leaf veins. The motifs are accented by contour threads. In the flowers, blocks are made in form stitch. Between the motifs, some connections are made with picoted braids. The scalloped edge derives from the pattern and is finished around with picots.
