About this work

Handkerchief with a border of natural-coloured needle lace, Brussels gauze lace. Around a large twelve-lobed batiste centre runs a lace border of four stretched central shells and deep corner shells. The latter are filled with a scroll, which binds together a hanging bunch of lilacs and lilies. The lilies have a single relief leaf and form the outer corners. A chain of hanging bells along the shells forms the outer outline.
