Handkerchief with a border of mixed lace with rails and pearl cord

Handkerchief with a border of natural-colored mixed lace: Brussels bobbin lace combined with needle lace and with a needle lace ground, a fine mesh lace ground. This type of lace is also called point d'Angleterre. A round batiste center piece is trimmed with a lace border with eight deep scallops, formed by rails, a string of pearls and a chain of daisies. In the scallops are tufts of a trio of daisies between fine willow twigs. The arches of the scallops are cut through in the middle by a large relief rose, in the corners by three roses.
