About this work

Handkerchief with a border of natural-colored needle lace, Brussels gauze lace. Around a cross-shaped batiste center with an embroidered W runs a wide border of very fine lace. On the corners and the middle of the sides stands a bunch of poppies, which on the upper side is framed by small C-scrolls and on the lower side transitions into the shells of the border. There are intermediate shells in shell shape with a border of ovals with star filling. The mesh net is filled with fine swirls and knots, some of which are arranged in quadrille.
