About this work
Strip of natural bobbin lace, collar lace. The pattern consists of linked diamonds, formed by a band laid in U-shapes. In the diamond-shaped field thus created stands a smaller diamond, with a pointed oval snowflake in the center. The work is made in linen stitch. The diamonds are connected by a lattice ground, a five-hole ground. As decorative ground a coarse snowflake ground is applied, in large triangular fields along the outer edges of the pattern. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight.
