About this work
Insert of natural bobbin lace: collar lace. The pattern consists of a diamond in a square field formed by a frame of linked single balls. In each corner between the diamond and the balls stands a pointed oval in linen stitch. The diamond consists of a decorative ground that forms square blocks. The strip is cut in half midway to the subsequent field. This field was probably also diamond-shaped and is formed by a lattice ground with an oval lattice. The top of the strip is finished straight. Below the balls along the bottom of the strip runs an arched band bobbin-made in net stitch. The arches form the scallop edge.
