About this work
Stoneware jug on a ring foot with a printed globular body and a narrow, tapering neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. A profile on the neck. Partially covered in cobalt blue. The front of the belly features a printed and applied alliance coat of arms with leafy scrolls and the inscription '+HANS:GERHART:V:W:D:IVDIT:V:BELV'. One coat of arms has an inverted V and a dog's head as a crest. The other coat of arms has a rearing unicorn, also as a crest. The medallion is surrounded by stamped and engraved flower scrolls cut out in blue. A decorative band on the shoulder. Raeren.
