About this work
Stoneware jug on a high foot with a hexagonal belly and a long, narrow neck. Two S-shaped handles ending in a curl, attached to the rim and shoulder. Some profiles on the foot. Partially covered in cobalt blue. On the neck, the incised monogram 'IHS'. The belly is covered with an impressed zigzag line (knibis) interrupted by six incised medallions with leaf vines. On the foot, two blue lines and a band with dots. Lahntal, Westerwald.
