Strip of bobbin lace with strongly curling flower vines, each bearing one flower

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, old Flemish lace. The repeating pattern consists of a stringing together of strongly and irregularly twisting vines with always one flower attached. The outline of the flowers is formed by a twisting ribbon just like the vines, it concerns two palm-shaped flowers and a circular flower with faintly lobed edges. There is hardly any ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cut-outs. In the vines and the flower hearts different decorative grounds are used, including net stitch fillings and five-hole ground. Leaves made in form stitch are applied in some places, among others in the heart of the circular flowers. The top and bottom are finished straight, with picots on one side.
